PRP Treatments

PRP is the process of taking the patient’s own blood and purifying and separating it into a healing liquid. This is then put into a syringe and we inject into the treatment site. Early studies have shown that PRP help stimulate hair growth and aid in wound healing. Plasma is the liquid part of your blood that’s mostly made of water and protein. It lets red and white blood cells and platelets move through your bloodstream. Platelets are a type of blood cell that makes your blood clot. They also play a role in healing.

Doctors may use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on injuries or damage to tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, and skin.

To collect plasma, a doctor draws blood from your body and uses a machine to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. Then the doctor numbs the area of your body being treated with PRP injections. Once you’re numb, the doctor uses a needle to inject your plasma into the area of your body that he treats.

HISTORY OF PRP

It was first developed in the 1970s and first used in Italy in 1987 in an open heart surgery procedure. PRP therapy began gaining popularity in the mid 1990s. It has since been applied to many different medical fields such as cosmetic surgery, dentistry, sports medicine and pain management.

HOW IT WORKS?

We take a small vial of blood  from your arm – less than the amont normally taken for routine blood tests. Then we place the blood in a vial and spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and plasma. The process concentrates the platelet count to about 4X normal. It is this platelet-rich plasma that we then activate and inject into the skin,or apply topically in a surface regeneration action.

END RESULT?
  • Healthier Appearance
  • Thicker Dermis (reducing wrinkles and scars)
  • Improved Tone
  • Prolonged Duration of FIllers
  • Prevent Hair Loss
